Foxtail Barns wedding venue in Staffordshire

Foxtail Barns &
The Tawny Hotel
Build Update

New Staffordshire wedding venue progress...

Over the past 12 months I have been keeping a eye on the building progress at Foxtail Barns and the Tawny Hotel in Staffordshire! What’s Foxtail Barns I hear you ask!? If you haven’t heard, the amazing team at “Best Day Ever" Wedding Venues are building a brand new barn wedding venue in  Staffordshire called Foxtail Barns. This will be the latest addition to their portfolio of; The Ashes Barns , The Mill Barns and Pendrell Hall Wedding Venues, all located in the West Midlands and right on my doorstep! Not only this but they are building a sister hotel right next door called The Tawny Hotel. This is no ordinary hotel however, think intimate luxury wooden lodges scattered around a lake within the picturesque grounds of the Consall Hall estate.

I have been lucky enough to have a backstage pass and go behind the scenes to watch this amazing new Staffordshire wedding venue take shape. On my first visit back in January 2020 I was greeted by not much more than a muddy hole in the ground, since then I have been visiting the site every couple of weeks and photographing the build as it progresses towards the grand opening in July 2021. Below are some of the images from my site visits, as the images scroll you can see my most recent visit in January 2021 right the way through to my initial visit 12 months earlier. A lot has happened in the world during these 12 months and it is testament to the team and how hard they work that they have stayed on track with this epic project.

Party barn, orangery, walled garden & dressing room

In January 2021 this is how the site was looking…

The roof is on the party barn and the rustic timber frame is taking shape, they have even started building the internal walls and rooms. This is going to be a unique and amazing space for your wedding reception. The walled garden is coming to life, mud has transformed into lush green grass and the pergola is in place, I can’t wait for outdoor drinks receptions here in the sun. The walls of the orangery and dressing room are in place, ready for oak beams and glass windows to be fitted. The bespoke dressing room will be such a special setting for preparations, not to mention the light and airy orangery for your wedding ceremony. Woodland Lodges are in position and ready to be fitted out with final details, taking your wedding night accommodation to the next level. Next-door the Tawny Hotel is taking shape with “The Plumicorn Restaurant” structure in place and various luxury lodges being built around the estate, this is really exciting and will be the only hotel of its kind in the area.

Consall Hall Gardens Staffordshire

This is what Foxtail Barns & The Tawny Hotel looked like before they were built...

Before 2020 the area of land where the wedding venue and hotel now stand was privately owned by the Podmore family. Consall Hall Estate was their family home and the Gardens were a labour of love for Mr Podmore. They did however, host a handful of weddings each year and I was lucky enough to photograph one of them. Here are some images of a Consall Hall Estate wedding in Staffordshire, before Foxtail Barns and The Tawny hotel were built in Staffordshire.
